You are an actor who’d like to improve your game with COMMERCIALS. Well done!

Commercials have been my bread & butter for 25 years. It’s fun creative work and can be an important component to a working actor’s life. In them I’ve had the opportunity to work with Christopher Guest, Bobby Farrelly, Academy Award-winning documentarian Errol Morris, Amy Poehler, and Joe & Anthony Russo. And now, you can study commercial acting with me! Just watch this short video already…

Additional classes are presently in the works…

so if you are interested but can’t make those dates/times, drop a line and hopefully I can accommodate you at another time! Demand has been strong so there may well be additional class times happening during this same period, likely on weekend days, so give a shout if that’s better for you. Classes as well as 1-on-1 coaching available, for both on-camera commercials as well as voice-overs.

So let’s get started!

This class is for those who have some acting background or perhaps are already working professionals, but who would like to focus their efforts on securing more on-camera commercial work.

It will build on acting skills that apply to all projects, e.g. making strong creative choices, being “in the moment” and having a sense of play.

It will grant you loads of practice auditioning on-camera for recent commercials spots, getting direction and trying additional takes.

It will hone your on-camera technical skills; making the most of your eyelines, adjusting the size of your performance for the framing, and communicating a lot in a small amount of time and space.

It will familiarize you with the lingo; campaigns, conflicts, client vs agency, brand messaging, and what it means if the 2nd AD asks you to meet them by the honey wagon to sign an Exhibit G.

It will help you craft your professional correspondence, as well as your “BS Detector” in regards to audition notices.

And it will allow you to make use of the knowledge I’ve gained through trial and error in my 25 years doing commercials (in Boston, NY, and LA)

Also, it will be fun!
